Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Vault Diary does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data.
This privacy policy explains how Vault Diary, an Android app for private notes and tasks developed by Kalaza, handles your information. In short: nothing you put in Vault Diary leaves your phone unless you export a backup file yourself.
Information we collect
Vault Diary does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Kalaza does not receive any information about you or anything you write in the app.
The app does not have Android’s internet permission, so it cannot connect to the internet or to any server. It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services, and there are no user accounts.
Information stored on your phone
Your notes, checklists, images, labels, tasks and settings are stored only on your phone, encrypted. The encryption key is protected by your PIN and by your phone’s secure key storage.
Kalaza has no access to this data and no way to recover it. If you forget your PIN and have no backup, your data cannot be recovered.
Permissions
Vault Diary asks only for permission to use biometric (fingerprint) authentication. If you turn on fingerprint unlock, your fingerprint is checked by Android. Vault Diary never receives or stores fingerprint data.
When you add a photo, you choose it with Android’s photo picker or take it with your camera app. Vault Diary stores an encrypted copy inside the app. It does not ask for access to your photo library, camera, storage, contacts or location.
Backups
You can export an encrypted backup file, protected by a password you choose, and save it wherever you pick using Android’s file picker. The app never uploads backups anywhere and we never receive them. If you save a backup to a cloud folder, that service’s own privacy policy applies to the file.
Data sharing
Because no data is collected, none is shared with or sold to third parties.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. Settings → Delete all data erases everything Vault Diary stored on your phone. Uninstalling the app also deletes all of its data. Vault Diary’s data is excluded from Android’s phone and cloud backups.
Security
All content is encrypted on your phone and unlocked only with your PIN or fingerprint. The app locks itself when you leave it, blocks screenshots and hides its preview in recent apps.
Purchases
Vault Diary is sold through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google under Google’s privacy policy; we do not receive your payment details.
Children
Vault Diary is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including children.
